Welcome to the Official Anderida Website

Anderida is the name of an annual wargames competition held each November in Pevensey Bay, Sussex, on the South Coast of England.  This 500 Army Points doubles competition uses the Field of Glory and De Bellis Multitudinis wargames rules for Ancient and Medieval Battles covering 3000 BC to 1500 AD.  Anderida is usually held in early November with two games each day.

Anderida is also the name of the Roman Camp at Pevensey Bay.   It was built about 300 AD as part of a scheme of land-defence against the Saxon pirates and repaired - probably by Stilicho - about 400 AD, and after the Norman Conquest was utilized by William the Conqueror for a Norman castle.  Pevensey Bay was the landing point for William's invasion force in 1066 AD, and after establishing a stronghold there, William went on to Hastings and Battle where he defeated Harold.
